AIDS Cell of the Academy is dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS screening and prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health and infectious diseases.
It has a separate Library of documents relevant to HIV/AIDS project management, research, and reproductive health issues apart from CD ROMs, poster and books in several languages.
The AIDS Cell of IAMMS is listed as NGO in the 2002 edition of the GLOBAL AIDS DIRECTORY, prepared by the Global Health, USA. AIDS Cell is a partner of Global Health Council (USA) and the AIDS-Care-Watch Campaign (Thailand).
AIDS Cell endorsed Vienna Declaration, which represents a consensus statement on HIV/AIDS and drug policy that cannot be ignored.
Abu Ali Ibn Sina is a well-known personality among the physicians of Unani medicine and scientists of physical sciences since medieval times. To commemorate and to institutionalize an academy named after him, Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine & Sciences was founded on March 1, 2000. The Academy has been registered under Indian Trusts Act, 1882 and was formally inaugurated on April 20, 2001. Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India gave accreditation to the academy in 2004 and promoted it as ‘Centre of Excellence’ in 2008. The Academy is now a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization with multiple aims and objectives.
